Dr. Courtney Bess is a board-certified internal medicine physician with a focus on cardiovascular health. She was awarded her medical doctorate from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. Subsequently she completed residency at Emory University and her fellowship in Cardiology at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She has expertise in cardiovascular imaging, stress testing, risk stratification and cardiac device monitoring. Dr. Bess is committed to an evidence-based approach, tailoring care to each patient's unique needs while striving for excellence in clinical outcomes.
She chose a career in cardiology because cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality in the US. She aims to play an integral role in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Bess finds it highly rewarding to make a positive impact on patients' lives, developing meaningful connections and collaborating with the healthcare team.
Outside of work, she enjoys community engagement, mentoring, exercising, attending musicals and plays, art museums, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
