Dr. Ankit A. Patel specializes in complex coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, mechanical circulatory support, transcutaneous aortic valve replacement (TAVR), patent foramen ovale/atrial septal defect closure (PFO/ASD closure), coronary CT angiography, echocardiography and stress test imaging.
Having personally experienced the impact a serious medical condition can have on a family, he is strongly committed to actively listening to patients’ concerns and delivering a treatment plan tailored to their individual circumstances. He finds it rewarding to perform interventions that lead to rapid heart recovery, as this brings much-needed relief to patients and their families.
Dr. Patel’s leadership within the medical field extends to director level appointments, participation as a site investigator for multiple clinical research trials, as well as involvement in medical executive, credentialing, peer review and technology steering committees. His areas of clinical interest include complex coronary and peripheral interventions, mechanical circulatory support for cardiogenic shock, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and structural heart disease.
When he’s not working, Dr. Patel enjoys swimming, travel and sampling different cuisines, as well as spending time outdoors with friends and family.
