Dr. Allison Dupont’s patients drive her passion for interventional cardiology. She treats every patient in her care as a family member, and she works with them on how best to reduce their future risk of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Allison Dupont is a board-certified cardiologist in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease. She has a clinical interest in minimally invasive structural procedures including MitraClip and Watchman, and in catheterization techniques that help reduce complications in high-risk patients. Dr. Dupont has extensive experience in caring for critical cardiac patients, including being one of the leaders developing the ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) program at Northside Hospital, which will provide state-of-the art technology giving full lung and heart support to some very critically ill patients. She has been the local principal investigator in a nationwide study looking at methods for improving outcomes in patients with cardiogenic shock. This condition has had a worldwide mortality rate of around 50%. In her free time, Dr. Dupont enjoys spending time with her family and their two dogs, traveling, and spending time on Lake Lanier. She also enjoys exercise/fitness, reading and gardening.
